REMOVING THE BATTERY

To remove the battery it is ne-
cessary to set to zero the digital
clock and the red line setting. To reset
these functions, see p. 18 (MULTIFUNC-
TION COMPUTER).
Carefully read p. 69 (BATTERY).
Make sure that the ignition switch is in
m
position "
".
Remove the rider saddle, see p. 58 (RE-
MOVING THE RIDER SADDLE).

Unscrew and remove the screw (1) on
the negative terminal (-).
Move the negative cable (2) sidewards.
Unscrew and remove the screw (3) on
the positive terminal (+).
Move the positive cable (4) sidewards.
Release the rubber band (5).
Withdraw the breather pipe (6).
Seize the battery (7) firmly and remove it
from its compartment by lifting it.

Once it has been removed, the
battery must be stored in a safe
place and kept away from chil-
dren.
CHECKING
THE ELECTROLYTE LEVEL
Carefully read p. 69 (BATTERY).
To check the electrolyte level, proceed as
follows:
Remove the battery, see p. 70 (REMO-
VING THE BATTERY).
Make sure that the fluid level is included
between the two " MIN " and " MAX "
notches stamped on the battery side.
Otherwise:
Remove the element plugs.

Never exceed the "MAX" notch,
since the level increases during
the recharge.
Top up by adding distilled water.
