CAUTION
Partial removal of the upper handlebar
cover is a complex process and may
cause difficultie s for an inexper t
mechanic.
In case of need, contact an aprilia
Official Dealer.
If you wish to do the work yourself,
proceed as follows:
Remove the lower handlebar cover, see
page 76 (REMOVING THE LOWER
HANDLEBAR COVER
).

Remove the rear-view mirrors, see
page 78 (REMOVING THE REAR-VIEW
MIRRORS).
Raise the rubber ring (1) to free it from
the odometer control coupling (2).
CAUTION
Work with care. Do not damage the
snap-on tangs and matching recesses.
Use a spanner to extract the odometer
control coupling (2) from its recess in the
dashboard.

CAUTION
T h e u p p e r h a n d l e b a r c o v e r ( 3 )
(complete with switches, instruments
and indicators) remains connected to
the electrical cables, so that it cannot
be completely removed.
Work with care to avoid damaging the
parts.
Do not force the electrical cables.
Moderately lift the upper handlebar
cover (3) and turn it towards the saddle.
