CAUTION
Do not press the start push button "
(6) when the engine is running: this can
damage the starter.

u If the engine does not start in three or
four seconds, turn the throttle grip (6)
slightly (Pos. A), while holding down the
start push button ≈ ∆ (5).
CAUTION
When the engine starts, the engine oil
pressure warning light "j" should turn
off. If the light stays on, or turns on
during normal operation, there is
insufficient oil pressure in the circuit. In
this case, stop the engine immediately
and contact an aprilia Official Dealer.
Do not use the vehicle with insufficient
engine oil, as this damages the engine.
Do not accelerate with the brake levers
u
held down before starting.
For starting, see page 57 (DEPARTURE
AND DRIVE).
KICK START
To kick start the vehicle, proceed as
follows:

u Position the vehicle on the centre stand.
Stand at the left side of the vehicle.
u
u Set the engine stop switch (1) to ≈
(where required by local legislation).
Make sure that the dimmer switch (2) is
u
in position ≈ ∆.
Turn the key (3) and set the ignition
u
switch to ≈ ∆.
To avoid losing control during starting,
u
lock both wheels with the brake levers
(4).
CAUTION
Do not operate the kick start pedal
when the engine is running.
Kick down on the pedal with your right
u
foot (7), and release it immediately.
Repeat until the engine starts.
