IDLING ADJUSTMENT

Adjust the idling after the first
M50

312 mi (500 Km) and whenever it is
irregular.
Adjust the idling after the first 625 mi
MC150
(1000 Km) and whenever it is irregular.
Proceed as follows:
Ride for a few miles to reach normal
running temperature, then stop the
engine.
Remove the central inspection

cover, see page 79 (REMOVING THE
CENTRAL INSPECTION COVER).
Remove the right inspection cover,

see page 79 (REMOVING THE RIGHT
AND LEFT INSPECTION COVERS).
Connect an electronic revolution counter
to the spark plug cable.

WARNING
Before proceeding, make sure the
working area is adequately ventilated.
Start the engine.
The idling speed should be around 1600 ±
200 rpm; at this speed the rear wheel is not
driven by the engine.
Remove the rear cover, see page 80
(REMOVING THE REAR COVER).
Working from the vehicle right-hand
side, adjust the carburetor adjusting
screw (1).
NOTE
Do not adjust the air adjusting
screw (3), to avoid upsetting the carburetor
balancing.

Lift
the
saddle,
see
page 43
( U N L O C K I N G / L O C K I N G T H E
SADDLE).
Remove the carburetor access cover
inside the compartment.
Adjust the adjusting screw (2).
TURN CLOCKWISE
to increase the rpm;
TURN COUNTERCLOCKWISE
to decrease the rpm.
Twist the throttle grip to accelerate and
decelerate several times to check its
operation and that the idling speed
remains constant.
