14. Check Leads: Make sure that the anode (+) lead between lamp and igniter is well
away from any projector metal such as the reflector or firewall.
Leads too close to metal parts will cause arcing during starting
WARNING
pulse. This is a SAFETY HAZARD, and the lamp may not ignite.
15. Close the inner lamp cooling compartment door and turn the knob clockwise to
secure it.
16. Replace the lamp/air filter cover and tighten the screw to secure it.
17. Re-attach the AC power cord to the projector.
18. If the new lamp is the same size as the replaced lamp, continue with Step 19.
Otherwise, specify the new lamp size; refer to Defining the Installed Lamp Size on
page 44.
19. Turn the projector back on. Allow the projector and lamp to warm up for
approximately 10 minutes before continuing.
20. Adjust Lamp Position: Perform the steps listed in Maximizing Light Output on
page 46.
Record the New Lamp Serial Number:
21. Press MENU on the projector remote control (Figure 3-29) or control panel
(Figure 2-3).
22. Select Lamp from the Main Menu.
23. Select Change Lamp from the Lamp menu.
24. Enter the serial number in the Lamp S/N text box using the remote numeric keypad.
25. Press ENTER to accept the change. This adds the new lamp serial number to the
Lamp History menu and resets the Lamp Hours timer to "0." Lamp Mode and Lamp
Limit remain as they were for the previous lamp and can be changed at any time.
