Using Your Modem
On the other hand, User Profile 0 and User Profile 1 are
nonvolatile memory areas that can permanently store
configuration options to the modem's Electrically Erasable
Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) chip. If your
modem requires a particular configuration to work with an
application, then those settings can be created and saved to one
of the two nonvolatile memory areas.
If you would like to know more about viewing, saving, and
reloading user profiles, refer to the following commands in
Chapter 4: &V (View Active and Stored User Profiles),
&W (Write Changes to Memory ), &F (Load Factory Defaults),
and Z (Reset and Load Stored Profile).
View User Profile Command (&V)
The &V command displays a summary of the modem's Active
User Profile, as well either User Profile 0 or User Profile 1.
To use the &V command:
TYPE:
PRESS: Enter
Save (Write to Memory) Command
(&W)
Anytime a change is made to a configuration option, it can be
saved to either the User Profile 0 or User Profile 1 memory area
using the &W command. (Remember that Active is a temporary
work area your modem operates out of. A loss of power or a
reset discards any changes made in the Active area.)
