Modular Circuit Card Interface
Connectors
A circuit card requires either a rear connector plate or a
connector module to provide DTE interfaces.
Modular circuit cards have ''gold finger" contacts on
their rear edge, which allows their removal from the
carrier without disturbing the DTE cables.
Modular circuit cards include:
DSUs, DBMs, and dial/lease modems, which
occupy one slot in the carrier, and require a rear
connector plate (Figure 6-1).
DSU card with a MUX card attached, which
requires a connector module. The two cards are
physically connected and occupy two consecutive
slots in the carrier (Figure 6-2).
Dial/lease modems, which occupy two slots in the
carrier and require a multiport connector module
(Figure 6-3).
