▌Function of Active Speed Limit Assist
If a change in speed limit is detected and the
automatic adoption of speed limits is switched on,
this will automatically be adopted as the stored
speed (
page 217). Speed limits below 12 mph
/
(20 km/h) will not be adopted.
The vehicle's speed will be adjusted when the
vehicle is level with the traffic sign at the latest. In
the case of signs indicating entry into an urban
area, the speed will be adapted according to the
speed permitted within the urban area. The speed
limit indicator on the driver's display will always
be updated when the vehicle is level with the traf-
fic sign.
If you are driving on a German freeway and there
is no speed limit, the system will use the speed
stored for a stretch of road with no speed limit as
the set speed. If you do not alter the stored speed
on a stretch of road with no speed limit, the rec-
ommended speed of 80 mph (130 km/h) will be
adopted.
