When the air conditioning system is switched
on, at least one zone is always active. How-
ever, several air distribution options can be
selected at the same time, for example to set
the climate control for the vehicle interior and
the footwells simultaneously. In doing so, the
¯ climate control for the windshield can
only be selected for the first seat row. When
automatic mode is active, the buttons for set-
ting the air distribution are automatically
deactivated. When the air conditioning system
is switched off, the buttons remain operable
and the last setting is saved.
Setting the airflow direction automatically with
Digital Vent Control
The Digital Vent Control electric air vents are only
available on vehicles with the THERMOTRONIC air
conditioning control panel. The function is only
available for the first seat row in the air condition-
ing menu.

The electronic air vents have automatic block-
age detection. If a movement of the air vents
is initiated via the multimedia system and
blocked by manual intervention or objects,
the electronic air vents return to the previous
starting position after two attempts.
