Check the condition and connections of
all the cooling system hoses and heater
hoses. Replace any swollen or deterio -
rated hoses.
The coolant level should be filled
between the MAX (or F) and the MIN (or
L) marks on the side of the coolant res -
ervoir when the parts in the motor com -
partment is cool.
If the coolant is low, Visit an authorized
Kia dealer.
WARNING
The electric motor
for the cooling fan
may continue to
operate or start up
when the vehicle is not running and can
cause serious injury.
Keep hands, clothing and tools away
from the rotating fan blades of the cool -
ing fan.
The electric motor for the cooling fan is
controlled by vehicle coolant tempera -
ture, refrigerant pressure and vehicle
speed. As the vehicle coolant tempera -
ture decreases, the electric motor will
automatically shut off. This is a normal
condition.

Operation
僅 Clean the area around the reservoir
cap.
僅 Periodically check that the fluid level
in the brake fluid reservoir is between
MIN and MAX. The level will fall as the
vehicle's mileage increases. This is a
normal condition associated with the
wear of the brake linings.
Use only hydraulic brake fluid that con -
forms to DOT 4 specifications.
INFORMATION
If the fluid level is excessively low, have
the system checked by an authorized
Kia dealer.
WARNING
僅 In the event the brake system requires
frequent additions of fluid, have the
system inspected by an authorized
Kia dealer.
僅 When changing and adding brake
fluid, handle it carefully. Do not let it
contact your eyes. If it does immedi -
ately flush them with lots of fresh tap
