Features of your vehicle
- Motor noise may be heard when
the vehicle is at a stop or at a low
driving speed.
- When the abnormality is detected
in the EPS, steering assist functions
will stop. The instrument cluster
warning light turns on or blinks.
Check immediately after moving
the vehicle to a safe area.
- The steering effort increases if the
steering wheel is rotated continu -
ously when the vehicle is not in
motion. After a few minutes, it will
return to its normal conditions.
- If the EPS does not operate nor -
mally, the warning light will appear
or blink on the instrument cluster.
The steering wheel may become
difficult to control or operate
abnormally. In this case, have the
system inspected by an authorized
Kia dealer.
- When you operate the steering
wheel in low temperature, abnor -
mal noise could occur. When tem -
peratures rise, the noise will
disappear. This is a normal condi -
tion.
- When jump starting the vehicle
after battery discharge, the steer -
ing wheel may not function prop -
erly. It is a temporary situation due
to low battery voltage. Once
charged, the steering wheel will
function normally again. Turn the
steering wheel around to make
sure it is functioning properly
before driving the vehicle.
僅 The heated steering wheel will turn off
automatically approximately 30 min -
utes after the heated steering wheel is
turned on.

NOTICE
After adjustment, sometimes the lock-
release lever may not lock the steering
wheel.
It is not a malfunction. This occurs when
two gears engage. In this case, adjust
the steering wheel again and then lock
the steering wheel.
WARNING
僅 After adjusting, try pushing the steer -
ing wheel up and down to be certain it
is locked in position.
僅 While adjusting the steering wheel
angle and height, do not use exces -
sive force to prevent damage to the
steering wheel column.
僅 Do not press or pull the steering wheel
hardly while adjusting. The steering
wheel column may be damaged.
Heated steering wheel (if
equipped)
With the EV button in the ON position,
pressing the heated steering wheel but -
ton warms the steering wheel. The indi -
cator on the button will appear.

僅 Press the steering wheel heater but -
ton. When you press the steering
wheel heater button, the indicator
lights up and the steering wheel will
warm.
