When %cusing manually, first fiacus in telephoto be%re recording, and then reset tile
shot length.
(1) Set FOCUS to MANUAL The _ indicator appears in tile viewfinder or on the
LCD screen.
(2) Move the power zoom lever to the "T" side in the optical zoom zone until tile
lever reaches the end.
(3) Turn the NEAR/FAR dial to achieve a sharp fiacus.
(4) Set the desired shot length using the power zoom lever.

To return to autofocus mode
Set FOCUS to AUTO. The _ indicator in the viewfinder or on the LCD screen
disappears.
Shooting in relatively dark places
Shoot at wide angle after focusing in the telephoto position.
To record a very distant subject
Push FOCIIS down to INFINITY. The lens fi)euses on tile most distant subject while
FOCUS is held down. When it is released_ manual focus mode is resumed.
Use this f\mction when shooting through a window or a screen, to focus on a most
distant subject.
Note on manual focusing
Tile following indicators may appear:
Ii when recording a very distant subject.
_- when the subject is too close to fiacos on.
