5. Adding detergent

There are several options for adding de-
tergent to the washing machine.
The washing machine is equipped with
the TwinDos system.
TwinDos has to be activated as de-
scribed in "Before using for the first
time".
The TwinDos system can only be op-
erated with the Miele UltraPhase 1
and UltraPhase 2 Detergents.
How UltraPhase 1 and UltraPhase 2
work
UltraPhase 1 is a liquid detergent which
dissolves dirt and removes the most
common stains. UltraPhase 2 is a
bleaching agent and removes stubborn
stains. For the best washing result,
these two agents are dispensed at sep-
arate times during the washing process.
UltraPhase 1 and UltraPhase 2 clean
white and colored textiles thoroughly.
UltraPhase 1 and UltraPhase 2 single
use cartridges are available to order
from your Miele dealer or via Miele on-
line store.
Activating TwinDos dispensing
TwinDos dispensing is automatically ac-
tivated for all programs in which dis-
pensing is possible.
The Twin Dos Color sensor button lights
up. The Twin Dos White sensor button
lights up dimly in certain wash pro-
grams.

Tip: The detergent dispensing quanti-
ties are pre-set. If too much foam builds
up, you can reduce the dispensing
quantities using the  and  pro-
grammable functions.
Changing TwinDos dispensing
You can change the suggested color
composition of the laundry.
- Twin Dos White sensor button for
white or light fabrics
- Twin Dos Color sensor button for
color fabrics
The brightly lit sensor button is acti-
vated.
 Touch the Twin Dos White sensor
button if required.
Deactivating TwinDos dispensing
 Touch the brightly lit Twin Dos White
or Twin Dos Color sensor button.
Both sensor buttons light up dimly and
dispensing is deactivated.
