Disassembly Instructions
36. To release the headlift mechanism, you first
need to remove the circlip (circled) on the head
lift lever. Next, release the headlift spring from
latchplate. The headlift lever can then be pulled
out of the pedestal casting. This also releases
also the quadrant assembly and grommet.
When reassembling, ensure the magnet is
correctly located, as this operates the headlift
reed switch interlock.
37. The quadrant assembly and grommet can
be pulled out. Undo the two screws securing
the bracket and this can then be removed.

39. To remove the hinge pin, you need to insert
a small flat blade screwdriver between the
body casing and the body cover, on the side
where the hinge pin comes through the body
casing, and locate and push down the body
cover insert as shown to release the hinge pin.
At the same time, push out the hinge pin
(another flat blade screw driver located in the
notch in the hinge pin helps here). On removal
of the hinge pin, take care not to damage the
casing.
