Error cases

Some error cases are relevant for the VersiCharge meter to supply valid and reliable energy
measurement values as correct input for billing and invoicing. The handling of these error
cases by the VersiCharge system is described here.
• Power failure fault
• Leakage current fault of the charger
• Meter error
• Charge control error
• OCPP connection error
Power failure fault
A power failure of the charger during a charging process can have a negative impact on
correct customer billing if this fault is not detected and handled properly.
A power failure during a charging process is handled by the charger because the Bauer meter
loses the charging process data and the snapshot data after a power cycle.
The process is described in the following sequence:
1. After transaction start, the charger regularly sends the raw meter values to the backend.
2. When the power failure is over and the charger has been started, the charger detects an
incomplete charging process.
3. The charger sends a StopTransaction request with a signed start snapshot to the backend
to end the charging process. The charger does not fetch any more stop snapshots from
the meter to avoid any faults occurring during a power failure.
Leakage current fault of the charger
A leakage current fault during a charging process leads to immediate interruption of the
charging process. An unexpected interruption of the charging process can have a negative
impact on correct customer billing if this fault is not detected and handled properly. To
ensure that the meter data of the charging process is always complete with a valid meter
value for the beginning and end of the charging process, the ERK Mgmt. module detects a
leakage current fault and ends the charging process by triggering a snapshot for the end of
the charging process from the Bauer meter.
The process is described in the following sequence:
1. During a normal charging process, the charger detects a leakage current through the RCD
function
2. When the RCD is triggered, the charger opens the AC relay and interrupts the charging
process.
3. The charger fetches the signed stop snapshot from the meter and deletes the metadata of
this charging process in the meter.
4. The charger sends a StopTransaction request with a signed start and stop snapshot to the
backend.
