Preparing your computer
The following few steps must be performed to prepare your computer for a
modem HotSync operation. Be sure to perform these steps before you leave
your office or home so that your computer is ready to receive a call from
your CLIÉ handheld.

Verif y t he f ollow ing, t o prepare your comput er f or a modem
Hot Sync operat ion:
• The computer modem is connected to your computer and both the
modem and computer are turned on.
• No communication applications, such as fax or telephony software,
are running on the COM port.
• The computer is disconnected from all online services. This helps to
avoid conflicts with the COM port.
Click t he Hot Sync
right corner of t he t askbar) and select M odem f rom t he
short cut menu.
Click t he Hot Sync
and select Set up f rom t he short cut menu.
The Setup dialog box is displayed.
