11 FAQ

This chapter collects recurring questions and offers solutions.

11.1 TRI/TRX file problem

If your data display shows you this error message, you have not selected a TRI/TRX file.
Figure 86: TRI/TRX file problem
Solution: Select TRI/TRX File as described in Chapter 6.3

11.2 Display does not turn on

If your display doesn't turn on, there's probably a problem with the power supply. In the first step,
you can see if it starts when you connect it via USB. With the 5V from the USB your display should
start, and you have to check your 12V wiring in the vehicle again.
If you look at the housing at the back of the display between the plugs, you will see a green LED light,
which is activated by power supply (12V or 5V).
If the display does not start via USB, it must be sent in for further diagnosis by our service. Please
contact
info@canchecked.de
by email before submitting to describe your problem and discuss
further steps.
11.3 Display remains black or white
If your display is suddenly only black or white and no longer starts as usual, please carry out a
software update as described in chapter 8. You can find the latest firmware in the download area of
our website. Please flash the file named "init_gen2.1_customer_flash-erase.hex" first. Then you can
follow the commands on your data display. Please select the appropriate firmware for your protocol
(compare chapter 6.2). If there is no improvement, please contact info@canchecked.de with a
complete description of the error.

11.4 I don't get any data (no can)

If your data display shows you under Setup > Can Bus in the upper right corner in red no Can6.26 and
Can Low on pin 14. With a continuity tester, the passage can be checked from the OBD connector to
plug B and a fault at this point can be diagnosed or ruled out.
For vehicles where the data display is connected directly to the Can Bus, the Can termination (2x120
Ohm resistors, alternatively activation/deactivation of the ECU internal resistors) and the correct
connection must be checked.
