6.2 Protocols

CANchecked data displays support a variety of CAN protocols. For the different protocols, there are
different firmware for your data display:
standalone engine control units (ECUs) use the standard firmware
Direct access to the vehicle Can Bus
Data retrieval with OBD2 protocol uses the OBD2 firmware
the TP2 protocol is used with the TP2 firmware
Vehicles that allow UDS protocol use the UDS firmware
BMW E/F series for vehicles of the E and F series
Depending on the installed firmware, you will only see TRI/TRX files for the corresponding firmware
in the TRI/TRX selection list of the display. All files for other firmware will be hidden. For example, if
OBD firmware is installed, you will not see TRI/TRX files for standalone ECUs, but only files with "O-".
More information on changing and updating the firmware can be found in Chapter8.

6.3 TRI/TRX file problem

If your data display starts and no TRI/TRX file is selected or present on the display, you will receive an
error message in a large yellow box.
To select a TRI/TRX file , navigate to the list of files available on the SD card via Setup -> Can Bus ->
TRI/TRX File.
