Using the BayStack 650/660 Wireless LAN PC Card

Driver Installation Troubleshooting in Windows NT 4.0

Do the following if you have problems loading the Windows NT 4.0 network
drivers:
Make sure that the Windows Card and Socket Service is installed on the

laptop.
Start Windows NT 4.0 with the "BayStack 650/660 Wireless LAN in

802.11 Mode" card inserted in the PCMCIA slot (NT 4.0 does not support
plug-and-play service).
From the Windows taskbar, open Start > Programs > Administrative

Tools (Common) > Windows NT Diagnostics to open Windows NT
Diagnostics.
Select the "Resources" tab.

Check to make sure there are no resource conflicts. To do so:

If other network adapters are listed on the Adapters tab of the

Windows NT 4.0 Network properties dialog box, remove them and
restart Windows.
If "Card Wizard" (or anything similar to Card Wizard) is installed on

your laptop, make sure that the resources allocated for the
"BayStack 650/660 Wireless LAN in 802.11 Mode" adapter are identical
to those listed in the properties window for the adapter.

"BayStack Workgroup Products" category, and then use the "ERC" link.

Go to the Control Panel > Network.
Click the Adapters tab.
Click "BayStack 650/660 Wireless LAN in 802.11 Mode."
Click Properties.
Resolve any conflicts and restart Windows (if necessary).
Resources required are:
A dedicated Interrupt.
A dedicated 40Byte I/O range (e.g. 200–23F).
A memory range of at least 6Kb.
