Using the BayStack 650/660 Wireless LAN PC Card
Click Yes to restart your computer.

When Windows restarts, the BayStack PC card should be operational.
Check the green LED on the antenna of the BayStack PC card. If the green
LED lights (steady on), the PC card is connected to a BayStack Access Point.
If the green link LED is blinking slowly, the PC card is attempting to connect
to another PC card (ad hoc mode).
If you encounter problems, go to
Troubleshooting."
When your BayStack PC card is operational in an infrastructure mode, refer
to either Using the BayStack 650 Wireless LAN Access Point or Using the
BayStack 660 Wireless LAN Access Point for instructions about setting up a
BayStack access point.
When your BayStack PC card is operational in an ad hoc mode, you are ready
to connect to other PCs with BayStack PC cards installed. Make sure that all
computers have the same SSID.

Installing the Card with Windows NT 4.0

Note: Network components must be added before you can add the adapter to
the Windows NT 4.0 systems.
To install your BayStack PC card if you are using Windows NT 4.0:
Turn off your laptop computer.

Insert the BayStack PC card into a PCMCIA slot.

Make sure the PC card is firmly seated into the slot. If there is more than
one PCMCIA slot in your laptop computer, you can use either slot.
Power up the laptop computer and start Windows NT 4.0.

Insert the BayStack 600 Series Wireless LAN 802.11 Software CD into

your CD-ROM drive.
Note: At this point, you are only installing the PC card drivers. Exit Setup if
the CD starts to load the utilities. To install the utilities, go to
Utilities" on

for more information.
