Singing karaoke
• With Video CDs, make sure the STEREO
audio channel option (also see page 48)
is selected so that you can use the
karaoke features.
• Depending on the microphone level, the
sound of the disc may distort. If this
happens, turn down the volume.

Changing the vocal mix

Adding some effects to the microphone mix
can sometimes improve the overall sound.
You can choose between three echo levels.
To add effects to the microphone mix,
press ECHO.
Pressing repeatedly switches between echo
levels 1 to 3 and off.

Changing the backing track

Sometimes you may want to lower or raise
the pitch of the backing track to match your
vocal range.
Press KEY CONTROL I (SHIFT +
KARAOKE) or i (SHIFT+ECHO) to lower or
raise the pitch of the backing track.
For the EV51DVD model only
During DVD playback, pressing KEY
CONTROL automatically switches to
STEREO playback and downmixes a multi-
channel source to two channels.
