CRANKSHAFT/PISTON/VALVES
CRANKSHAFT INSTALLATION
Set the piston at bottom dead center.
Install the crankshaft [1] into the crankcase so that the
camshaft [2] and the timing gear [3] are aligned the
marks [4] as shown, and the projection [5] on the timing
gear is inserted into the groove [6] in the crankshaft.
Be careful not to damage the lip of the oil seal when
installing the crankshaft to the crankcase.
Install the cylinder (page 10-4).
Turn the crankshaft counterclockwise 90 °, then check
the mark [1] on the timing gear is aligned with the mark
[2] on the camshaft.
