3.3 Adjust the correction values for injection
units
♦ The "injector quantity adjustment (IQA)" function is used to
correct the injection rate for each cylinder of a Common Rail
system individually throughout the characteristic range.
♦ The adjustment values are printed on each injection unit. The
printed values may be letters and/or digits.

1 - Adaptation value (IMA): the specifications provided in the
illustration are only one example. A multi-digit variant is also
possible.

♦ After replacement of an injection unit the adjustment value
must be written to the engine control unit.
♦ After replacing the engine control unit, the "injection unit ad‐
justment values" must be transferred to the new engine control
unit.
♦ In addition, check all other "injector quantity adjustment (IQA)"
injection units to ensure that all values have been entered cor‐
rectly. If the correct values are stored in the engine control unit,
these values must never be entered again.
♦ The work procedure for the adaptation is described in the
"Targeted fault finding"/"Targeted functions".
♦ Use a vehicle diagnosis tester for this purpose.
