16 M3900 series general description

Pause in Dialing Strings

This feature enables the user to enter a 1.5-second delay in the dialing
sequence on an external line. The sets use the delay for applications
such as answering machines, IVR systems, auto attendant, when
programming or editing their Personal Directory or Redial List. A new
softkey, labeled "Pause", appears on the M3903, M3904, and M3905
telephone sets.
This feature introduces a Pause softkey. To enter a Pause in the dialing
string while editing a number, press the Pause softkey. A Pause place
marker appears in the dialing string.
The pause character is two parallel bars (||) that appear in the dialing
display. You can insert additional pauses (for example, four pauses = 4
x 1.5 sec. = 6-sec. delay.) This feature is supported when using the
Release 3 PC utility, NTMN82AB or later.

Call Forward enhancement

The Call Forward Enhancement feature modifies the method of
activating Call Forward on M3903, M3904, and M3905 sets.
To forward your calls, or change a previously stored Call Forward
number, follow the steps in Procedure 1.

Note: If you use Remote Call Forward to change the call forward
number, the number that appears on the display of the telephone set
is the last number entered directly from the telephone set. Currently,
there is no plan to change this.

Press the Call Forward Key.
The previously stored Call Forward number appears, if one exists.
If you want to keep the previously stored Call Forward number, press Done.
If you want to enter a new Call Forward number, go to Step 3.
Enter the Call Forward number and press Done.
When you start to enter the new number, the set automatically deletes the
initial Call Forward Number.
