To reload or update firmware using the tftp put command
1 Download the latest firmware to your PC from the Intermec web site at
www.intermec.com.
2 On your PC, open a command window. For example, choose Start >
Run, enter cmd in the Open field, and click OK to open a command
window.
3 Enter the
tftp put
tftp –i ipaddress put pathname password
where:
ipaddress
is the IP address of EasyLAN Wireless
pathname is the path and file name for the firmware
password
is the password for EasyLAN Wireless, which by default is
intermec
4 Press Enter. After 20 or 30 seconds, you should see a message indicating
that the update completed successfully.
If you see a message indicating that the connection timed out, the
update was not successful. Make sure you have complied with the notes
at the beginning of this procedure and try again.
5 Exit the command window. Your EasyLAN Wireless is now ready to
communicate or configure.
Example
tftp -i 10.20.111.35 put c:\wlim.bin intermec
This command loads the firmware file called wlim.bin on the EasyLAN
Wireless with the IP address 10.20.111.35.
There are two ways to determine the current version of firmware installed
on your EasyLAN Wireless:
• Use the
console command, as described on page 93.
sh ver
• Start your web browser and enter the IP address of the EasyLAN
Wireless into the Address (Internet Explorer) or Go To (Netscape) line.
The EasyLAN Wireless web page appears. The firmware version is
displayed, as shown in the next illustration.
