available and immediately starts the software upgrade, firmware upgrade,
file transfer, or configuration update.
When you add a printer with EasyLAN Wireless Model AW02 to the
Console, you see the string ITCEZLWAW02.
You can use the Avalanche Administrative Console to perform these tasks:
• Upgrade EasyLAN Wireless firmware
• Send network configuration commands to the printer
Note: For more general information on using the Wavelink Avalanche
client management system, contact your local Intermec representative or
visit the Wavelink web site at www.wavelink.com.
To upgrade EasyLAN Wireless firmware
1 Download the latest EasyLAN Wireless Model AW02 firmware upgrade
from the Intermec web site at www.intermec.com. Make sure you
download the .ava file, which was created using the Avalanche package
builder.
2 Use Wavelink Avalanche to push the .ava file to the printer and upgrade
the firmware.
To send network configuration commands to the printer
1 Create a text file that contains console commands. For help, see
Appendix A.
Here is a sample file that sets the SSID for the printer and sets up static
WEP encryption on the printer:
set nw ssid PTRSWTAP1
set nw enc 128
set nw key# 1
set nw keyval 69736164656164636C6F776E31
Here is a sample file that sets up the printer's IP address, subnet mask,
and gateway's IP address:
set ip ad 10.20.13.70
set ip su 255.255.0.0
set ip ro 10.20.0.1
2 Use the Avalanche package builder to create an .ava file.
3 Use Wavelink Avalanche to push the .ava file to the printer and execute
the commands
