c In the HOSTS file, type the IP address for EasyLAN Wireless
followed by a space and the printer name.
d Save the HOSTS file.
e Close the terminal or console.
8 In the Nodename field, enter the printer name and press Enter. The IP
address should appear automatically (if the name resolves).
9 Verify that JetDirect Interface – Single Port is selected.
10 Click OK. A message prompts you to confirm that you want to create
the supervisor.
11 Click Yes.
12 Fill in the Physical Printer Name field with the same name you
entered in the Nodename field in Step 8.
13 Set the Printer Model to generic or dumb.
14 Set the Printer Queue to any ASCII string, such as
15 Press Enter. New fields appear on the form.
16 Set the Printer Spooler to any ASCII string, such as
17 Set the Logical Printer Name to any ASCII string, such as
18 Click OK to configure the printer. A message prompts you to confirm
that you want the spooler, print queue, logical printer and the network
physical printer created.
19 Click Yes. Another message appears, verifying that the items were
created.
20 Click OK.
21 (Optional) To test print a sample IPL file called CODE128.TXT, you
can issue this command at the command prompt:
> lp –d code128lp code128.txt
1 Using the SMIT program, enter
2 Select Printer/Plotter.
3 Select Manage remote printer subsystem.
4 Select Client services.
5 Select Remote printer queues.
6 Select Add a remote queue.
7 Enter the following remote queue settings:
• Name of queue to add (user selectable)
code128q
code128s
and select Devices.
