MOVING A DISABLED VEHICLE

The vehicle does not include a Manual Pull Out of
Park feature (to allow shifting the vehicle
transmission into NEUTRAL without the engine
running). If the vehicle has become disabled
(cannot achieve "Ready" to Drive), it may be
possible to move the vehicle to the side of the
road by pushing it.

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

Follow These Steps To Move A Disabled Vehicle:
1. Press the ENGINE START/STOP button until
RUN has been selected.
2. Press brake pedal and Turn Off the Electric
Park Brake (EPB) if it was engaged.
3. Press the brake pedal and shift out of PARK.
4. Release brake pedal — vehicle should now be
free to roll. Make sure to maintain control of
the vehicle while the EPB is not applied and
the vehicle is not in PARK.
5. After moving the vehicle, shift transmission
back into PARK. Apply EPB as appropriate.
NOTE:
If the vehicle's 12 Volt battery has been
depleted to a point that it cannot provide
sufficient power to allow shifting out of PARK or
disengaging the EPB, a 12 Volt DC jump pack
can be connected to the under hood vehicle
battery posts. However, if connection is lost to
this auxiliary power source, or the auxiliary
source becomes discharged, the vehicle
may attempt to secure itself by shifting back
into PARK.
If the vehicle is being pushed, it should not be
pushed more than 1 mile (1.6 km), and the
pushing speed should not exceed 10 mph
(16 km/h).
