2 Initial Setup

Wi-Fi connection procedure (1/2)

This section explains how to connect your Surface to Wi-Fi for the
first time.
To do this, you will need your Wi-Fi SSID and security key.
Please check the Wi-Fi SSID and security key in the manual of the
Wi-Fi you are connecting to.

If you want to connect to a different Wi-Fi in an environment
where you cannot connect to the Wi-Fi you have already set up after
completing the initial settings, please refer to "Connecting to a
different Wi-Fi network."
What is an SSID?
A name attached to a Wi-Fi signal. Each school or home Wi-Fi has a
different name. SSIDs other than the one you are connecting to will also
be displayed.
The Wi-Fi SSID and security key are
1 Sign in as the
administrator user you
created on page 22.
2 Tap the globe icon on the
"Taskbar."
3 Displays the Wi-Fi SSIDs
that you can connect to.
4 Tap the SSID you want to
connect to.
