This chapter explains the steps to take when something goes wrong
with your Surface.
・Surface initialization procedure
・Replacing consumable parts
Please note:
1 Initialization may delete the files you have saved in the Surface.
Any additional applications you have installed will also be deleted.
2 Please save your important files to OneDrive or similar.
3 If the problem persists even after initialization, or if initialization is
not possible (display does not turn on, power does not turn on, etc.),
please contact the Repair and Support Center.
4 Please refer to page 64 for contact information.
5 Repairing may also delete files you have saved in your Surface
and additional apps you have installed.
6 Please save your important files to OneDrive or similar before
sending it for repair.
7 For consumable batteries, please purchase them at an electronics
retail store.
