CONTROLS
Malfunction
The failure of a camera is shown on the Control
Display.
A yellow symbol is shown and the re‐
cording area of the failed camera is
shown in black on the Control Display.
Remote 3D View
Principle
The BMW Connected App and the camera im‐
ages from Surround View can be used to show
the areas around the vehicle on a mobile device,
for example a smartphone.
The function shows a view of the current situa‐
tion.
Operating requirements
Data transfer must be activated, see page 57.
The BMW Connected App must be installed
on the mobile device.
Switching the function on/off
Via iDrive:
1.
With the standby state switched on: "My
Vehicle"
2.
"iDrive settings"
3.
"Data privacy"
4.
"Remote 3D View"
Functional limitations
The system may have limited functionality or
may not be available at all in the following situa‐
tions, for example:
In poor light conditions.
With soiled cameras.
With a door or the boot lid open. Dark areas in
the display indicate areas that are not detec‐
ted by the system.
With the exterior mirrors folded in.

When other camera functions are run in the
vehicle.
If the vehicle is moving faster than at walking
speed.
It may not be possible to use the function in
all countries.
For reasons related to data protection, the
function can only be run three times in two
hours.
Park Assistant
Principle
The system assists with parking in the following
situations:
When parking sideways parallel to the road,
parallel parking.
When reverse parking perpendicular to the
road, perpendicular parking. The system lines
up with the middle of the parking space when
parking perpendicular to the road.
General
Operation
Operation of the Park Assistant is divided into
three steps:
Switching on and activating.
Parking space search.
Parking.
The status of the system and the actions re‐
quired are shown on the Control Display.
