Side collision warning
Principle
The system helps to avoid potential side colli‐
sions.
General
In the speed range from approximately 70 km/h,
approximately 45 mph to approximately
210 km/h, approximately 130 mph, four radar
sensors in the bumpers monitor the area adja‐
cent to the vehicle.
A front camera detects the position of the lane
markings.
If another vehicle is detected adjacent to the ve‐
hicle, for example with the potential of a side col‐
lision, the system helps the driver to avoid a colli‐
sion with a steering intervention.
