If an M Setup is currently set, this will deacti‐
vate it.
2.
Press and hold down the M1 or M2 button on
the steering wheel.
The settings are saved.
Via iDrive
1.
"My Vehicle"
2.
"Setup"
3.
"Configure M1" or "Configure M2"
4.
Selected desired adjustment option.
5.
Select the desired channel.
The individual settings are saved for the Setup
that is currently being used.
When Setup M1 or M2 is active, any changes to
the setting are applied immediately.
Activating/deactivating M Setup
Activating M Setup
Press the relevant button on the steering wheel:
Activate Setup M1.
Activate Setup M2.
If DSC OFF or MDM is set in M Setup, a mes‐
sage appears in the instrument cluster. This
message is operated by pressing the button
again.
Deactivating M Setup
Press the relevant button on the steering wheel
again.

Symbol
Description
Symbol illuminated: correspond‐
ing M Setup is activated.
Symbol flashing: M Setup could
not be activated.
Anti-blocking system ABS or
Dynamic Stability Control DSC
control drive stability directly.
Reactivate M Setup once the
symbol is no longer flashing.
Resetting M Setup
Individual settings can be reset to default values.
Via iDrive:
1.
"My Vehicle"
2.
"Setup"
3.
"Configure M1" or "Configure M2"
4.
"Reset M1" or "Reset M2"
5.
"OK"
To interrupt resetting: "Cancel"
Dynamic Stability Control
DSC
Principle
The system reduces engine output and applies
the brakes on individual wheels thereby helping,
within the limits imposed by the laws of physics,
to keep the vehicle safely on course.
General
DSC detects the following unstable driving con‐
ditions, for example:
