Setting INDIVIDUAL
"Shift lights": switching shift lights in the in‐
strument cluster on/off. No shift lights are dis‐
played in the instrument cluster if the shift
lights in the Head-up Display are active.
"Speed limit exceeded": if the speed detec‐
ted by Speed Limit Info is exceeded, the ex‐
ceeded area in the speedometer is marked
with a red band.
"Highlight scale values": the scale values on
the speedometer and the revolution counter
are highlighted.
Check Control
Principle
The Check Control monitors vehicle functions
and alerts you to any faults in the monitored sys‐
tems.
General
A Check Control message is displayed as a com‐
bination of indicator or warning lamps and text
messages in the instrument cluster and, if appli‐
cable, in the Head-Up Display.
If applicable, the text message shown in the Con‐
trol Display is accompanied by an additional
acoustic signal.
Indicator and warning lamps
Principle
Indicator and warning lamps in the instrument
cluster show the status of some functions in the
vehicle, and indicate when there is a malfunction
in monitored systems.
General
Indicator and warning lamps can illuminate in a
variety of combinations and colours.

Displays
When the drive-ready state is switched on, the
functionality of some lights is checked and they
illuminate briefly.
Red lights
Seat belt reminder
The driver's side seat belt is not fas‐
tened. For some country specifications:
the front passenger seat belt is not fas‐
tened or objects are detected on the front pas‐
senger seat.
Check whether the seat belt has been fastened
correctly.
Seat belt reminder for rear seats
Seat belt on the corresponding rear seat
is not fastened.
Airbag system
Airbag system and belt tensioner may be
faulty.
Immediately have the vehicle checked by
a Service Partner of the manufacturer or another
qualified Service Partner or a specialist work‐
shop.
Parking brake
The parking brake is engaged.
Release the parking brake, see
page 128.
Brake system
Brake system malfunctioning. Continue
driving at moderate speed.
Immediately have the vehicle checked by
a Service Partner of the manufacturer or another
qualified Service Partner or a specialist work‐
shop.
