Description
Symbols illuminate:
M Dynamic Mode is activated.
DSC indicator lamp also flashes:
M Dynamic Mode is regulating
the driving and braking forces.
The indicator lamps illuminate:
M Dynamic Mode or DSC has
failed.
M xDrive
Principle
M xDrive is the vehicle's four-wheel drive system.
The combination of M xDrive and Dynamic Sta‐
bility Control DSC further optimises traction and
driving dynamics. M xDrive distributes the drive
forces variably to the front and rear axles accord‐
ing to the driving situation and road surface con‐
ditions.

3 M xDrive programs are available when DSC
Dynamic Stability Control is deactivated.

Distribution of drive forces

"4WD Sport" Front and rear axle.

Rear axle.
A programme is active automatically in the
following situations:
When the drive-ready state is switched on:
"4WD".
When MDM is active: "4WD Sport".
When DSC is active: "4WD".
Selecting a channel
It is possible to configure the required pro‐
gramme for Setup M1 or M2.
Via iDrive:
1.
"My Vehicle"
2.
"Setup"
3.
"Configure M1" or "Configure M2"
4.
Deactivate DSC accordingly.
5.
"M xDrive"
6.
Select the desired channel.
Setting is accepted immediately if M Setup is
active and DSC is deactivated.
To activate the required M Setup with the selec‐
ted settings, press the corresponding button on
the steering wheel:
