Plug the printer's power cord
back into the wall outlet and turn
on the printer's power switch.

Print a configuration page to con-
firm that the RS232C board is
properly installed.

Important
The memory unit can be damaged
by small amount of static electrici-
ty. Before touching it, touch some-
thing metal to remove static
electricity from you.
To make the printer recognize the
installed option, you should set up
the option with the printer driver.
This printer has one slot for Printer
Feature Expander Type 185, and
you can install one of them at a
time.

Be sure to check the following
points:
• The printer's power switch is
turned off.
• The power cord is unplugged
from the wall outlet.

Remove the back plate.
Note
A coin can be used to remove
the screws.

Tilt the memory unit so that it is
30 degrees perpendicular to the
slot (A A A A ), and push it forward (B B B B ).
It should click into place.

Attach the back plate to its origi-
nal position.
