Attach the network interface ca-
ble to the jack on the board as
shown in the illustration.

Connect the other end of the net-
work interface cable to the net-
work.

Plug the printer's power cord
back into the wall outlet and turn
on the printer's power switch.
The configuration page of Network
Interface Board will be printed au-
tomatically. Check the configura-
tion of Network Interface Board
with it.
Important
After installing Network Inter-
face Board properly, set up the
printer's network environment
using the operation panel. See
P.35 "Configuring the Printer for
the Network".
Type 1 Printer: Installing Hard
Disk Drive Type 2000
Note
See the inside front cover of this
manual to confirm which printer
(Type 1 Printer or Type 2 Printer)
you have.
The hard disk drive (HDD) can be
attached to either the left or the
right side of the back of the printer.
This procedure is for attaching to

the left side.
You cannot install two HDD at a
time.

Confirm that the box contains the
following items.
• HDD
• Operating Instructions Supple-
ment

Be sure to check the following
points:
• The printer's power switch is
turned off.
• The power cord is unplugged
from the wall outlet.

Remove the back plate.
Note
A coin can be used to remove
the screws.
