Converting the audio format of
tracks
You can convert tracks in the Linear PCM format
to the MP3 format.
This function is convenient when you need more
space on the HDD.
Notes
 Tracks in the MP3, WMA, ATRAC3, or ATRAC3plus
format cannot be converted.
 When the audio format of a track is changed, the
original Linear PCM track is deleted.
Tip
Linear PCM-format tracks can be converted when they
are transferred. In this case, the original Linear PCM-
format tracks will remain in the HDD Jukebox.

Enter the HDD JUKEBOX function
and select the track whose format is
to be converted.

Enter the Options menu and select
[Edit] – [Convert format].
Confirm that the selected track is checked
.
If you want to convert multiple tracks, check
each one.

Select [Enter].
A bit rate selection window appears.

Select the bit rate (page 29) in the
pull-down menu.

Select [Execute].
The audio format is converted.
Note
You can convert a maximum of 99 tracks at the same
time.
