Vacuum gauge
Q
!
Please note
Overpressure will damage the vacuum gauge.
Never subject the vacuum gauge to positive
pressure.
1. Close all valves at the pressure gauge set.
2. Make all connections, as shown above.
Note
Fill valve
must remain closed.
E
Ensure that fill hose
last to be connected to service valve
Shut-off valve
must be open.
F
For all connections, counterhold with a second
open-ended spanner.
3. Start the vacuum pump.
At the pressure gauge set, open the valve to the
vacuum pump and the valve to the hot gas connec-
tion.

Charging the refrigerant lines and internal unit

Note
The external unit is pre-charged with refrigerant
R410A.
No topping up is required for line lengths from 3
to 12 m.
For lengths of refrigerant lines, see page 16.
Refrigerant R410A may only be topped up in a liquid
state.
Danger
Direct contact with refrigerant can cause skin
damage.
Wear safety goggles and protective gloves when
working on the refrigerant circuit.
!
Please note
Topping up the system with refrigerant or evacu-
ating the refrigerant can cause the condenser to
freeze up.
Flush the secondary side of the condenser with
water or drain it completely.
!
Please note
Mechanical stress will damage the connections.
For all connections, counterhold with a second
open-ended spanner.
Line lengths 3 to 12 m:
1. Close shut-off valve.

and shut-off valve

4. After approx. 5 min, open the valve to the vacuum
gauge.
Leave the vacuum pump running until the indication
on the vacuum gauge is almost at "0" (at least
30 min).
Note
The vacuum pump runtime will depend on the
ambient conditions.
5. On the pressure gauge set, close the valve to the
vacuum pump.
Stop the vacuum pump and wait approx. 5 min. If
the indication on the vacuum gauge rises, there is a
leak.
Eliminate the leak and repeat the process.
6. Close all valves at the pressure gauge set.
7. Remove the vacuum pump and vacuum gauge.
2. Undo the caps from the fill valves of the external
unit. Open both fill valves and refit caps.
Note
Both fill valves must be open when the appliance is
switched on.
3. Promptly undo the fill hose and shut-off valve from
the service valve of the external unit: The pressure
in the pipework must be greater than ambient pres-
sure.
4. Fit the union nut with copper cap to the service
valve of the external unit: Torque 15 to 20 Nm.
Line lengths 12 to 30 m:
1. Connect hose between pressure gauge set and
refrigerant bottle.
Evacuate hose and pressure gauge set.
2. Top up with the required amount of refrigerant: See
table below.
!
Please note
Escaping refrigerant will cause environmental
pollution.
Extract refrigerant from the fill hoses and
pressure gauge set.
