1. Select DSC CALL then INDIVIDUAL.
2. Select the priority level.
3. Select the buddy you want to call from your buddy list.
4. Press ENT to SEND the call. Channel 70 is selected automatically and the Tx symbol is shown on
the LCD while the call is being sent.
The radio waits for an acknowledgement (WAITING ACK).
5. If the call is acknowledged (INDIV ACK) press PTT to talk. If there is no reply (UNABLE TO
ACKNOWLEDGE) a message asks if you want to retry (SEND AGAIN?). Press ENT to retry the
call.

1. Select DSC CALL then INDIVIDUAL.
2. Select the priority level.
3. Select MANUAL NEW then enter the MMSI of the individual you want to call.
4. Press ENT then set the working channel.
Note: Duplex channels cannot usually be called and are automatically eliminated from the
suggested call list. If the call is to a Coast Station, the channel is selected automatically.
5. The call details are shown. Press ENT to SEND the call.
The Tx symbol is shown on the LCD while the call is being sent.
6. If the call is acknowledged (INDIV ACK) press PTT to talk. If there is no reply (UNABLE TO
ACKNOWLEDGE) after 30 seconds a message asks if you want to retry (SEND AGAIN?). Press
ENT to retry the call.
6.5 Acknowledgement of an Individual Incoming Call (INDIV)
The radio sounds a friendly two-tone alert when it detects an incoming DSC call.
Incoming individual calls are almost always ROUTINE priority.
You must manually acknowledge an incoming call.

If the radio recognizes the MMSI as one of your buddies, your buddy's name is displayed in place of
the MMSI.
1. Press ENT to automatically acknowledge the incoming call and stop the call alert.
The radio automatically selects the channel designated by the incoming call.
