6.1 Safety instructions and guidelines

The line voltage to which the device is connected must have a circuit breaker. The circuit
breaker must be easily accessible and uniquely assigned to the device. It is advisable to
locate the circuit breaker near to the device. The maximum current consumption of the
heating control system must be taken into consideration when selecting the circuit breaker.
The following apples to the UL version of the heating control system:
• Only use the device in circuits limited to 50 kA.
• Only use 60/75°C copper cables for the cabling.
• The HCS POM4320 panel mounting (UL) device must be protected with an additional

● The device is installed.
● The incoming supply is disconnected at the mounting location of the device and secured
against being switched on again.
● The mains voltage is secured by an easily accessible isolating mechanism. It is
recommended that the external isolating mechanism is located close to the device.
● The cables to be connected are not live.
