Top Strap
If your child restraint has a top strap, it
should be anchored.
If'yau.have a convertible, don't use a.
restraint like that in your vehicle
because .the top strap anchor cannot be
installed properly. You shouldn't use
this type ohestraint without-.anchoring
the top strap.
If your vehicle is not
..a
convertible. and
you need to have an anchor installed,
you can ask your Chevrokt dealer to
put one -in-for you. I% you wgnt to install
an anchor yourself, your dealer can tell
you how
to do
it.

Securing a Child Restraint-in the
Passenger Seat
You'll be using the lap-shoulder belt.
See the,earlier section about the top
strap i f the child restraint has one.

Put the restraint
an
the seat. Fallow
the
instructions for the
child
restraint.

Secure the-.child in the child .restraint
as the instructions say.
3 . . Pull
out the
vehicle's safety belt and
run the lap part through or around
the restraint. The child restraint
instructions will show you how.
See $the shouldey belt would
go in
front of the child's-face or neck
If so,
put it behind the child. restraint.
