The adjustment rod for the front air shutter is
located in the lower control compartment. See
Table 29 for the standard adjustment setting.
1. Adjust the air shutters per instructions in Figures 34A and 34B and Table 29.
2. Light the fireplace. Follow the lighting procedure on the lighting label in the control compartment or Pages 69-
72.
3. Allow the burner to operate for at least fifteen (15) minutes while observing the flame continuously to ensure that
the proper flame appearance is achieved (Figure 34C). If the following conditions are present, adjust accordingly.
4. When satisfied that the burner flame appearance is normal, reinstall the lower control compartment door, then
proceed to finish the installation.

If flame appears sooty, adjust the air shutter, incrementally, to a more open position until the proper flame
appearance is achieved.
If flame remains blue, adjust the air shutter, incrementally, to a more closed position until the proper flame
appearance is achieved.
