B) Insert a chip card

C) Tap to Pay
Follow on from the general transaction flow
Tap to Pay or contactless purchase transactions will be approved offline under the following
conditions:
• The amount is below the contactless floor limit
• The transaction is below the customer verification limit—the transaction will not
request customer verification (PIN or signature request)
If the card has performed too many approved taps offline, the card will stop the contactless
purchase and ask for swipe/insert. The request is approved online, and then it may approve
offline again.
Continue as per general transaction flow.

If a chip card is swiped, the POS device will ask to insert the card
Insert the chip card, chip side up, chip first into the POS device
When the card has more than one application linked, the POS
device will display an 'account selection' screen
Select the appropriate account
Card validations performed
Card and account rules are checked
If the chip is not read correctly, and if card allows, swipe the card
