8.3. Hot cards file outdated error
If 'hot cards file outdated' is displayed, the POS device's hot cards are out of date or have failed
to download. Complete a parameter download as seen above.
8.4. Comms error / Error connecting
Check the POS device's Wi-Fi or GPRS signal and tap for more information. Ensure that the
POS device's comms information is correct.
If the POS device's comms information is incorrect, select 'menu' on the main screen and
then 'communications' , and update the POS device to connect to the correct communication
method. Contact our Help Desk if there is any uncertainty.
8.5. Stuck on connecting
Please be patient as this error will time out after 60 seconds.

8.7. How to check for a faulty POS device
The POS device could be faulty when the following occurs:
•
The POS device does not read a customer's inserted, swiped or tapped card
•
The POS device will not power up
•
The POS device screen displays 'error'
•
The POS device is struck by lightning
•
The POS device's keyboard is faulty or does not react to the keypad
•
The touch pad or touch screen is stuck or does not react to being tapped
If the keyboard is faulty, the keypad does not react to being touched, the touch pad or screen
is stuck or the touch pad or screen does not react to being tapped, reboot the POS device
immediately.
If any problems persist, contact our Help Desk.
8.8. Hold and call / Hot card
If the card is reported lost or stolen, or could be a fraudulent card, contact our authorisations
centre immediately on how to proceed.

Ensure there is paper in the POS device
Ensure the paper roll is correctly inserted
Ensure the paper closure lid is closed properly
