Pan-Scan: stretches the video display vertically to fill the
video window completely. A similar mode is used to
reformat movies for videotape.
TECHNICAL NOTE: The Video Window Mode settings are
only supported when the DVD video is viewed in wide-
screen mode.
Video Window Size: defines the default shape of the DVD
Player's window. The DVD Player fits the window to
accommodate the selected viewing mode, then adjusts the
window to the selected window size. The options are:
Original: resizes the window to fit the viewing-mode
size.
Set 4: 3: sizes the window to a 4 x 3 aspect ratio. This is
the same ratio used by your TV set.
Set 16: 9: sizes the window to a 16 x 9 aspect ratio. This
is the same ratio found in most movie theaters.
Variable: allows you to control the window size.
Video Quality
Adjusts the brightness, contrast and color, in a similar way to the
controls on a television set.
TECHNICAL NOTE: The Video Quality settings apply only to
the internal display panel and to an external SVGA monitor.
If you need to adjust the video quality on an S-video or
composite video device, refer to the device's manual for
instructions.
