has cooled down.
Frying container
– Inserting the frying container:
When placing the frying container into
the housing, ensure that the holding
bracket for the basket is located opposite
from the heating element assembly.
– Fill amount:
Before heating up, the oil/fat level must
be between the minimum and maximum
level marks.
Th e minimum and maximum level marks
can be found on the side of the frying
container.
Th e container holds a maximum of
approx. 3.7 litres of oil.
Before fi lling the container with the
required quantity of oil, the frying basket
should be removed.
Note:
the diff erence between the
minimum and maximum marks is
approx. 700 ml.
– Types of oil/fat to be used:
Only pure vegetable oil/solidifi ed fat
should be used in this deep fryer. It can be
heated up to 220° C and is neutral in taste.
Do not mix diff erent kinds of oil/fat.
Oil:
We recommend the use of oil specifi cally
intended for deep-frying, which may be
safely heated to high temperatures. Th e
maximum safe capacity of the container
is approx. 3.7 litres. Please observe the
maximum mark.
Solidifi ed fat:
Never melt solidifi ed fat in an empty
fryer. However, solidifi ed fat may be
added straight into the frying container,
if it already contains liquid fat up to the
minimum level mark.
When using solidifi ed fat, approx. 3.5 kg is
needed. Th e fat should be cut into smaller
pieces fi rst and melted in a separate pot,
ensuring that it just reaches a liquid state
but is not over-heated: this is to avoid the
danger of burns when pouring the fat into
the frying container aft erwards. Please
observe the maximum mark.
Th e recess below the heating element acts
as a cooling area where residual particles
resulting from the frying process, as well
as other impurities, are collected. Th e
circulation of the oil/fat results in a lower
temperature level around the recess area. Th is
collection process extends the life-span of the
frying oil/fat.
Removable heating element
Before the appliance is connected to the
mains, the power cord must be pulled out to
its full length from the storage compartment.
Fit the heating element securely into its
mounting bracket. Th is will activate an
integral safety switch. Th e appliance can
be operated only if the element has been
installed correctly; otherwise, the safety
switch will not allow the unit to be operated.
Do not operate the appliance unless both
the heating element and the frying container
(fi lled with oil or fat) have been properly
installed.
Switching the deep fryer On/Off (Timer)
Th e timer serves to swit ch on the appliance.
By turning the timer clockwise, the intended
running-time of the appliance can be set. If
the timer is turned anti-clockwise to position
' ,the appliance is permanently switched on.
Before inserting the plug into a wall socket
and using the timer to turn the appliance on,
ensure that
– the frying container and the heating
element have been fi tted as instructed and
– the frying container has been fi lled with
oil/fat to a safe level.
