TROUBLES AND ACTIONS
Problem
Track comes off.
Abnormal wear of sprocket
Bucket rises slowly or does not rise at
all.
Does not swing.
PHENOMENA AND ACTIONS FOR ENGINE RELATED PARTS
• Contact your Komatsu distributor for the remedies indicated with (*) in the remedy column.
• Ask your Komatsu distributor for repairs for problems or causes which are not listed below.
Problem
Engine oil pressure monitor lights up. Oil in oil pan is insufficient.
Steam spurts out from top of radiator
(pressure valve).
Radiator coolant level caution lamp
lights up.
Engine coolant temperature gauge is
in red range.
Engine coolant temperature monitor
lights up.

Main causes
Track too loose
Lack of hydraulic oil
Swing lock switch is still applied
Swing brake system error
Main causes
Oil filter cartridge is clogged.
Oil is leaked due to improper connec-
tion or breakage of oil pipe or pipe
joint.
Wiring to the sensor is disconnected
or broken.
Sensor is faulty, monitor is faulty.
Engine coolant is insufficient, coolant
leaks.
Dirt or scale is accumulated in cool-
ing system.
Coolant level sensor is defective.
Radiator fin is clogged, fins are fallen. Clean or repair by referring to EVERY
Defective coolant temperature gauge Replace coolant temperature gauge.
Thermostat has a trouble.
Sealing of thermostat is improper.
Radiator filler cap is loose (in high al-
titude operation).
Wiring to the sensor is disconnected
or broken.
Remedy
Adjust track tension. See WHEN RE-
QUIRED.
Make the oil level to the specified lev-
el by referring to CHECKS BEFORE
STARTING.
Turn off the swing lock switch.
Check, adjust. (*)
When it is necessary to move the ma-
chine to a safe place, turn the swing
parking brake cancel switch to ON
position temporarily.
Remedy
Make the oil level to the specified lev-
el by referring to CHECKS BEFORE
STARTING.
Replace the cartridge by referring to
EVERY 500 HOURS MAINTE-
NANCE.
Check, repair. (*)
Repair the wiring, or connect it. (*)
Replace. (*)
Check, add coolant, repair by refer-
ring to CHECKS BEFORE START-
ING.
Change coolant, flush inside of cool-
ing system by referring to WHEN RE-
QUIRED.
Replace the coolant temperature sen-
sor. (*)
500 HOURS MAINTENANCE.

Replace the thermostat. (*)
Replace thermostat seal. (*)
Tighten the cap or replace packing.
Repair the wiring, or connect it. (*)
