8.1 General problems
Problem
USB device not
responding
IP address assigned twice
(e.g. through series
commissioning).

Possible cause
The operating system
does not have a suitable
driver for the USB device.
Default IP address for

When the write filter is
activated, a project
download can only be
performed when no
changes have been made
in the HW configuration.
To correct or avoid error
Install a suitable driver; the correct driver can often be
downloaded from the homepage of the device's manufacturer.
The EWF for Windows Embedded Standard 2009 must first be
disabled for this purpose.
Assign a new IP address for Windows (see SIMOTION P320-3
and Panel Fronts Commissioning and Hardware Installation
Manual).
This must be different to the previous default IP address and may
not have been assigned already in the network.
Deactivate the write filter and restart the project download.
If the problem is not corrected by deactivating the write filter, then
contact your technical support team in this case (see Hotline and
Internet addresses (Page 5)).
