Administrator - When this check box is checked, the highlighted user is granted
administrative privileges. Users with administrative privileges can:
add, delete, modify rights, modify passwords, and
see the list of users in the User Accounts screen
Packet Capture - When this check box is checked, the highlighted user is given
permission to use the Capture/Generate | Packet Capture Filter screen. If this is
not enabled you will be prompted with the following popup when accessing this
screen.
Any Packet Capture slice size - When this check box is checked, the highlighted
user is given permission within the Capture/Generate | Packet Capture Filter
screen to select any slice size in this field. When this check box is not checked, the
packet capture slice size is set to 64 bytes. This is used as a security measure to
prevent end user data such as passwords from being captured by the unauthorized
users.
Preserve Packet Capture buffer on Log Off - When this check box is checked,
and the user logs off (or shuts down the OptiView user interface), the contents of
the packet capture are retained in buffer memory. The contents of the packet
capture will remain in buffer memory until the next time a packet capture is
generated. At that point you will be prompted with a popup asking if you want to
overwrite the contents of the capture buffer. If the box is not checked, the capture
buffer will be cleared when you log out of the analyzer (or turn it off).
Traffic Generator and Throughput - When this check box is checked, the
highlighted user is given permission to use the Traffic Generator and Throughput
features accessed from the Capture/Generate tab.
Remote user interface - When this check box is checked, the highlighted user is
given permission to access the analyzer remotely using their login.
